Bigasanko booms in Unlad Kabuhayan Summit 2012

Alenton and sales people as they explain the business to potential clients
IN the recent three-day livelihood event dubbed Unlad Kabuhayan Summit 2012, Bigasanko.com is one of the successful and happy exhibitors with around 22 potential franchisees queuing to engage in franchising business.

We often hear the expression “Bigasan ko yan!” This implies positive statement which means “it is our source of income; or stream of wealth; and can supply basic needs.” Literally, it means stock of rice.

In the same context, Bigasanko is definitely a franchise of man’s necessity in this eon where rice, load and bills payment facility are products and services Filipinos cannot live without.

From Being an OFW Employee to Becoming an Entrepreneur

In seven years experience as overseas Filipino employee (OFW) in Cayman Island, Ramilton James R. Alenton conceptualized this franchise with the help of GMB Consultancy headed by the franchise guru Armando Bartolome. Alenton remembered he worked as purchaser, sales and marketing supervisor, warehouse supervisor, quality assurance supervisor and head cashier, in short, a multi-tasking employee doing everything to earn a living outside the Philippines without his family (during his early years abroad).

Aside from the homesickness, the couple felt their earnings cannot meet their needs and so Alenton think of ways on how to be with his family and at the same time earn well.

His friend called him to put up a rice trading business in the Philippines. This inspires him and Alenton recreated the idea with variations and so this three-in-one franchise with rice, loading with bills payment capability in style and technology was born.

Bigasanko.com, a rice, loading and bills payment center Franchising

On January 2010, Alenton conceptualized a rice trading business. He said, “I chose to have bigasan as franchise because of all products in the country, rice is the most important food in every Filipino table.”

He continued that with franchising, this will help create more jobs in the country aside from the low investment and easy start-ups, including free management, marketing, technical, loading and bills payment training.  This business idea according to him, may change potential franchisees’ lives and income.

Bigasanko was launched on July 2011 with the supermarket-quality rice products at a very affordable price.

Franchise Packages Available

The business package comes with rice dispensers. This allows retail of rice and may also deliver sacks of rice to stores or to residences. Bigasanko will supply pure commercial rice varieties from big local rice mills ensuring quality, cleanliness and correct weight at site.

The franchise is packaged with the loading facility. The Bigasanko partners with distributor carrying all the three major cellular phone companies in the Philippines such as SMART, GLOBE and SUN. This is another earning opportunity for the franchisee to load to consumers with a profit depending on the kind of products to load.

It also has the bills payment capability like that of the Bayad Center. The store can handle bills collection of telephone, water, power, insurance, cable and a lot more. There’s no premium for the collection service.

There are three great packages available to choose such as the 500K, 400K and 350K (offer for P350K will be extended until October 15, 2012 only). No royalty fee & no advertising fee!

The packages consist of the following:

The difference in packages is in the number of sacks (25kg) initial stock inventory such as P500K with 240 sacks, P400K with 120 sacks and P350K with 60 sacks.

“We have promotions and marketing campaigns for sales, regular training schedules to upgrade, monitor and assist every store,” Alenton said to support the new and existing franchisees.

Bigasanko’s Expansion

Currently, Bigasanko is one of the new members of the Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc (AFFI).  They opened seven stores at the following locations:

Alenton said there is one kilometer radius protection for every location.

The supply of rice comes from well known rice mills in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Laguna, Isabela, Pampanga, Pangasinan and the supply chain and partnership is growing.

There are 22 potential franchisees from the recent summit and 15 more overseas Filipinos assessing this franchise as a business.

In an interview, Alenton said that, the entrepreneurs and would-be ones like OFWs, executives, business owners, retirees, employees, and business enthusiasts see the opportunity as profitable and necessity.

And so he enjoined us to review the franchise and be part of its beaming sensation.

Negosyong Pinoy Finance Corporation, is one of his alliances that will support the financing solutions of would-be franchisees.
