Feeling at Home in 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Cafe

Dinah Grace Miro (Ms Dynes), the restaurateur and business owner of 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Cafe (PinoyVision.net)
AWESOME architectural and interior design of 5 Loaves & 2 Fish Cafe inspired me. From the facade to the entrance to their dining area with the high ceiling and extra special lights illuminating the space. I felt the passion and inspiration of the owners husband-and-wife tandem Dinah and Anthony Miro. I was mesmerized with the beauty of the place, the design, the structure, the blending of colors and harmony, the art works of this restaurant constituted a comfortable ambience with the smell of the food that completely meld with my mind and soul. The scene embodied a family restaurant where everybody can enjoy a good meal in a comfortable, classy yet homey atmosphere. The ceiling is high, with good ventilation and delectable foods, not just a coffee shop but an impressive restaurant of choice.

Dinah Grace Miro, one of the business owners shared the birth of their restaurant 5 Loaves & 2 Fish in a gathering of food, business and lifestyle bloggers.

When she was younger, she was the kitchen assistant of her mother in baking and cooking. She studied in a culinary school to formalize her hobby and interest in cooking and baking from known chefs in the country.

Her love of serving her family with good food and her hospitality with friends and relatives brought her to this entrepreneurship arena where people asked her to sell the viands, cakes and products she produced. They pushed her to unleash her potential in a sound restaurant business.

Backed September 2011, she joined the Ultimate Taste Test with over 50 best food bakers, spearheaded by famous food blogger Anton Diaz of Awesome Planet and RJ Ledesma, a known wedding host and businessman. Dinah became one of the top choices at the Mercato Centrale event with her creation of her version - Lavosh!

On July 2015, Dina impressed upon her family to have a restaurant. She got two business names then that she really wanted to be registered but were already taken. She prayed hard to have a business name that will truly reflect her belief as a Christian, a meaning that will strike up a conversation.

She was lead to the verse in the Bible in Mark 6:41 that says about Jesus miracle in feeding thousands of people: "Jesus took the five loaves and two fish. Looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces. He kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share."

Dina continued that there were several "hugots" or insights or accompanying words that draw emotions out of her, such as this restaurant talks about love, sharing and faith. With so much passion Dina relayed that before the food establishment was created: "it was a walk of faith, not an easy journey for our family."

"Dumaan ako sa butas ng karayom (I went through challenges), nagpuyat (stayed longer at night), I have to equip myself because it is my long time dream. God really honored my prayer. Lesson learned, it pays to wait on God's perfect timing."

Dinah plays chef and husband as critic in their food venture. It was Anthony who collaborated more with the architect. "There was a combination of charm and warmth, modern and rustic, and the explosion of elements of wood, metal and concrete," Chef Dan added.

Crispy Veggie Lavosh or Lavash (luh-vosh) is a cracker, a thin crisp, gigantic, unleavened flatbread common throughout Armenia, Turkey and Iran. Mostly used to scoop up food. A perfect appetizer to whet your appetite for a starter, best with their assortment of gourmet dips and spreads. The bread is served with either dips of tomato and coriander salsa, pate made of chicken liver, pesto burlee and dulong fish with garlic oil. This appetizer is ideal for sharing between three to five persons.
