Jollibee supports Integrity Caravan of the Office of the Ombudsman

AIMING for its core values of honesty and integrity, fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) supported the Office of The Ombudsman’s projects for the youth under its Integrity Caravan.

The launch of the Integrity Development Contest was held recently at SM North Edsa Annex.

The Integrity Caravan consists of various informative and engaging activities for different sectors of society which was initiated by the governing body in celebration of their 25th anniversary this 2013.

This aims to further build a broad-based strategic partnership of all anti-corruption stakeholders. 

The Integrity Development Contest in particular is a nationwide competition for children aimed at introducing to them the fundamentals of good governance and anti-corruption through creative means. There are three categories under this contest namely, Essay Writing, Poster Design and Video Production. 

This is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other development partners.

Initial Activities of the Ombudsman

Public Governance Fora, will bring together multi-sectoral practitioners, champions and advocates of good governance and anti-corruption through press releases; events; issues, challenges and resolutions on fighting corruption, from a stakeholder's perspective (private sector, business, media and fiduciary).

The Ombudsman Integrity Lecture Series, a series of lectures on various good governance and anti-corruption topics to be delivered by distinguished personalities from the local and global community.

University Integrity Tour, a road show to build the foundations of good governance and anti-corruption in the country’s educational system showcasing the various programs and projects through mini-lectures, audiovisual presentations and photo exhibits in several universities nationwide.

Barangay Integrity Fora, a knowledge sharing among barangay officials on ethical standards, good governance and public accountability. The seminar will cover relevant and timely topics such as but not limited to the roles, functions and programs of the Ombudsman, and an orientation on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).

JFC will be providing the prizes to the winners of the Essay Writing Contest. This contest is open to all currently enrolled public and private students ages 10-12 years old who are children of active government official/employee. 

The contest seeks to reinforce to children the relevance of always being honest in duty and to intensify the importance of having a strong moral life.

“The Office of the Ombudsman challenges the youth to bring to life a relevant, truthful, and meaningful perception of Integrity through their creative expressions,” said Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.

While JFC’s Chief Operating Officer Ernesto Tanmantiong emphasized the company’s utmost support to the Office of the Ombudsman’s Integrity Development Contest as he recognized the unique capability of today’s youth to be instruments of change.

The following are project partners of the Ombudsman: Asian Development Bank, British Embassy of Manila, United Nations Development Programme, USAID Philippines, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Metrobank, SM Group, and the U.P. Film Institute.
