Growth hacking is a new term used as marketing technique by technology startups which embraces creativity, analytical thinking and social metrics to sell products and gain exposure to their websites. The brands and organizations like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, AirBnB and Dropbox utilized growth hacking techniques to hack their way to millions of users and customers.
This term may be new to many internet entrepreneurs. Familiar words and knowledge in internet marketing, SEO, Google Adwords and email marketing, growth hacking is emerging part of the online marketing ecosystem, weaving on the scientific aspect of online marketing.
Unlike the traditional marketing, growth hackers focus on low-cost and innovative ways such as using social media and viral marketing instead of buying advertising through more traditional media such as radio, newspaper, and television. This is important for startups, as it allows for a "lean" launch that focuses on "growth first, budget second."
In the Philippines and in Asia, there are several organizations applying this method too.
To know more, MAD Incubator will be bringing to all visitors a Growth Hacking Conference with the growth hackers to share their experiences and methodologies to internet entrepreneurs who are keen to learn about it.
Investment Pitching Sessions
The Investment Pitching Sessions are “Ideation Pitching” and “Startup Pitching.” Select investors will evaluate the validity of the idea or business through presentations. at Meeting Room, Level 3, KDC, Cyberjaya.
This will provide opportunities for investors to evaluate current innovative business models that are available in the market today, as well as to present their investment cases to the right investors. This will serve as platform to match entrepreneurs with venture capitalists (VCs) and angel investors in their efforts to commercialize their innovative business ideas and products.
All participating individuals/ start-ups are required to submit their one page Executive Summary to alice@incubator.com.my by November 19. Shortlisted individuals/ start-ups are given eight (8) minutes per presentation and five (5) minutes for Question and Answer session.

This is an event that has entrepreneurs’ interest at heart!
The D.A.R.E. philosophy, Dream, Accelerate, Realize and Empower; itself encompasses the processes that are most important to any entrepreneurs who are aspiring to start their own business ventures. D.A.R.E. BizStart Showcase 2013 aims to promote the entrepreneurial mindset by bringing potential entrepreneurs closer to the resources they need, such as collaborators, suppliers and prospects. D.A.R.E. BizStart Showcase is poised to be the one stop platform for entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs to obtain latest information, knowledge, skills, expanding their networks and looking for business opportunities.
It will be one of the largest entrepreneurial events in Malaysia with two conferences and 10 seminars covering more than 90 workshops and 90 speakers focus on various entrepreneurial and business topics. The seminars and workshops will be conducted in multiple-languages, such as English, Malay and Chinese.
The D.A.R.E. BizStart Showcase 2013 will be offering many programmed activities, just to name a few in the agenda are: Growth Hacking Mini Conference, Startupz! Jobs Fair Malaysia, Program Transformasi Usahawan, The Essential Entrepreneurial and Business Building and One-on-One Business Clinics, MIRC Funding Forum 2013, Software and Services in the Cloud for Your eBusiness and more topics to feed the mind. It is expected to attract more than 3000 visitors in Cyberjaya.
Inspiring Speakers
Global and Malaysian entrepreneurs like Benjamin Levy from Silicon Valley, Rodrigo Martinez, a Chilean from hpG, Ng Boon Jiun from Hometuitionjob.com and Joblogy.com, Ai Ching, the co-founder of Piktochart Malaysia, are some of the invited in “Growth Hacking Mini Conference” speakers that will be presenting on the event day.
At the end of the event, the goals are: to build a vibrant entrepreneur eco-system that converge technology and non-technology entrepreneurs in the hope of creating a vibrant marketplace for entrepreneurs to collaborate and trade together. It is an expanded vision that the D.A.R.E. BizStart Showcase 2013 will be the biggest entrepreneur showcase and learning stage in Malaysia, as well as, throughout South East Asia.
