Knorr’s University Junior Chefs Cooking Contest

(MANILA) UNILEVER selected 12 students from different universities with their recipes to join the elimination round today to be held at Isetann-Recto, Atrium (stage area) from 12:00 noon until afternoon.

Several entries were selected by Unilever’s country/innovation chef Dianne dela Cruz from different branches of Isetann namely Recto, Cubao and Carriedo. The chosen schools are: five from New Era University Commercial Cooking class, two from Universal College of Paranaque, and one each from Centro Escolar University, Far Eastern University, Adamson University, World Citi College and ACLC.

The select participants attended the briefing together with the events management agency Activ Asia, Inc. headed by the project manager Uno Florencio and associate business manager Izhay Olaviaga on December 3.

The objectives of this competition are: (1) To enjoin the junior chefs to be part of the major culinary activities like conferences, brand activation and Unilever-Knorr’s activities. (2) To learn from Knorr’s chefs. 
New Era University's Commercial Cooking tagliner: Cooking is my Passion!
The criteria for judging are the following: Preparation (10%), Taste (30%), Appearance (20%), Creativity (20%), Healthiness (10%) and Affordability (10%). A budget of Php500.00 will be given to buy the ingredients and time allotted is 30 minutes to prepare, cook and present the dish to the judges. 

From these 12 students six will be chosen to compete in the Grand Finals this December 8. One grand prize winner will receive Php50,000.00 while the five finalists will receive Php1,500.00 and the eliminated six will have Knorr’s gift packs.
